Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds of a tree in the family Myrtaceae, Syzygium aromaticum. They are native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia (formerly known as the Moluccas) and used as a spice in many Indian and Arabic dishes.
Flavor of cloves is very strong and sweet with a slight numbing effect at first bite but then turns into a warm sensation that lingers on your tongue after you swallow it.
