How to use Saffron

  • Crushed saffron threads are soaked in warm (not boiling) water for several minutes prior to use in cuisine. Soaking Saffron in water prior to use releases deep yellow, orange colour liquor in water.

Saffron is also known as Kesar in Hindi, Keshar, Jafran in Bengali, Kumkumappu in Tamil, Kumkuma pubba in Telugu, Zafran or Zaffran in Urdu, Saffraan in Dutch, Safran in French and Azafrán in Spanish.
