Charoli, also known as Cuddapah almond, Calumpong nut or Buchanania lanzan is a lentil size dry fruit used commonly in India in sweets and desserts. Charoli is soft like Pine-nuts, it has sweet, nutty flavour and is rich in fibers, proteins and minerals. Ground charoli seeds are also used in making batters, soups and sauces, specially in Maharashtra.
Charoli is also known as Chironji in Hindi, Saara paruppu in Tamil and Charumamidi, Priyaluvu in Telugu.
